Our story

མེ་ཏོགMetok 1959

A flower, a daughter's name, and a homeland remembered in every jar.

Metok

མེ་ཏོག

Flower, in Tibetan.

The name is personal. Tenzin's daughter is named Pema, the lotus, and Metok carries her the way a flower carries its bloom.

1959

1959

In memory of Tibet.

1959 is the year Tibet lost its independence. The date sits on every label so the memory travels with every jar, to every table.

From Tenzin

The story behind my chili oil

As a former bartender, I've always loved spicy food and enjoyed sharing new flavors with my customers.

One day, a customer asked me for hot sauce. I gave them another hot sauce, but they didn't like it. That moment got me thinking: "Maybe I should make my own."

So I started making my own chili oil, from my own recipe, and sharing it with the people around me. The response was so positive that I realized this could become something more.

That's how my chili oil journey began: with a little spice, a lot of passion, and the dream of creating something of my own.

A little heat, a lot of flavor.
